Why these Countries?
We've chosen these countries & regions particularly because most J1 students who come to work on Cape Cod in the summer come from them. In 2025, over 4,000 J-1 students from over 40 counties came to work on the Cape & Islands. Some of The most prominent countries of origin include Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Romania, Turkey, & Ukraine. Most students come from Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, & Central Asia. Massachusetts as a whole hosted 6,329 J-1 Summer Work & Travel participants in 2024, making it the second-highest destination for J1's in the U.S..
Why Join Us?
Mission Mobilization Team Cape Cod is dedicated to serving the regional body of Christ, with a focus on reaching the unengaged and sparking a passion for missions, expanding opportunities & access. Many churches have established mission programs. We exist primarily for those who don’t, & those who want their congregants to engage with the greater body on Cape Cod. We wish to serve as a hub of inspiration & connection to avenues that fan the flame of interest in bringing the gospel of Jesus to the nations.

J1 Training
We believe one of the single most fruitful opportunities for global missions exists right here on Cape Cod. Every summer, thousands of J1 international work & travel students come to the Cape & Islands to work, many of them from Turkey & Kazakhstan.
As such, our first goal is to prepare Cape Cod Christians to engage this summer population. Starting in May, we’ll be hosting a training for this purpose, with six sessions led by the experienced trainers.
Training Overview
We invite you to join us for an inspiring and practical journey into global missions and cross-cultural outreach through six sessions.
We’ll explore God’s overarching mission from Genesis to Revelation, uncovering how you can actively participate in His story and ignite a passion for sharing His love with the lost.
You’ll also gain insights into connecting with international students, particularly J1 students, understanding their needs, building meaningful relationships, and sharing Jesus in culturally sensitive ways.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the diversity of religious perspectives and how to navigate barriers when sharing the Gospel.
Hear from experienced missionaries and outreach leaders as they share real-world wisdom, and get your questions answered in a welcoming environment. Whether you're new to missions or eager to deepen your outreach, this series will equip you to make an eternal impact both locally and globally.

There are many misconceptions surrounding the mission of the church. From “everything is missions” to “missions is dead,” many Christians are confused about their role in evangelism and global missions. Join us for a 30,000-foot flyover of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to understand God’s purpose in creation and His call to His people to be witnesses of His glory. Learn how you can be threaded into God’s story and have your hearts burning with God’s love for the lost peoples of the world. - 2 | J-101: What’s a J1? Why Should I Care?
